Business leaders and investors are meeting at the International Trade and Investment Conference. It runs from 19 October to 23 October. They aim to build business partnerships and look at investment chances in several sectors.

The Department of Public Information published details of the conference on 19 October 2026. The Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation also reported that the conference has brought business leaders and investors together. It said they are building partnerships and looking at investment chances in several sectors.

Stabroek News reported that the World Trade Centre Georgetown (WTCG), a facility in Kingston, Georgetown, organises the conference. The paper said it launched officially in October 2025. It belongs to the World Trade Centers Association network, which has its headquarters in New York. The paper said the network has more than 300 centres in nearly 100 countries.

The St Kitts & Nevis Observer reported that President Irfaan Ali opened the WTCG building in June 2025. That was before the official launch. It called the seven-story building the first World Trade Center in the CARICOM region. The paper said the building has about 37,500 square feet of office space.

Stabroek News reported that Komal Samaroo is the Executive Chairman of WTCG. He is also Executive Chairman of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL). He described the centre as a step away from relying on preferential trade agreements. Those are deals that give trading partners special terms. He said the centre points toward taking a full part in a more open global market.

The conference ends on 23 October.

The story was first reported by Department of Public Information.
