Lighthouse Gold starts exploration at Aurora NW in Cuyuni-Mazaruni
The company has begun phase one of work on four prospecting permits covering 19.4 km2 in the Cuyuni–Mazaruni district.

Lighthouse Gold Corp., a Vancouver-based company listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange, has begun Phase I work at Aurora NW, according to a TheNewswire release by Lighthouse Gold carried on TradingView. Aurora NW lies in the Cuyuni–Mazaruni district.
Kaieteur News reported on the work on 21 October 2026. The TheNewswire release by Lighthouse Gold, carried on TradingView, is dated 21 April 2026 and says Phase I work has begun.
Aurora NW is made up of four prospecting permits. Together they cover 19.4 km2, or about 1,942 hectares. The land lies on the Cuyuni Greenstone Belt, which the company describes as highly prospective.
In a release carried on TradingView, Lighthouse Gold says Aurora NW is 3 km away from the concessions of the Aurora Gold Mine. It puts the project 7 km from the mine itself. The company calls that mine Guyana's largest operating gold mine.
TradingView, carrying a Lighthouse Gold release, reported that a separate TipRanks summary says Zijin Mining Group operates the mine. TradingView reported that the same summary adds that Lighthouse holds an option to acquire 100% of the project.
The release carried on TradingView also names an Exploration Manager. According to the release, Lighthouse Gold named Reshud Mc Lennan as Exploration Manager on 21 April 2026. The release calls him "an experienced Guyanese exploration geologist".
The TradingView copy of the release says Mc Lennan was on the discovery team at Oko West. It says he most recently led Greenheart Gold's exploration in Guyana.
The TheNewswire release by Lighthouse Gold, carried on TradingView, also includes a warning. Mineralisation, meaning valuable minerals in the rock, on neighbouring properties does not necessarily point to the same at Aurora NW, the company says.
