World Bank issues award notice for Guyana education project specialist
The World Bank says its education project in Guyana aims to widen access to secondary school and job training.

The World Bank has issued a contract award notice for a Social Specialist. The job falls under the Guyana Strengthening Human Capital through Education Project. The notice lists direct selection as the method, which means the consultant was not chosen through an open contest.
The World Bank published the notice on 28 October 2026 in its procurement notices for Guyana. The facts we have do not name the specialist or give a contract value.
The World Bank says the project, listed as P177741, is an education project it finances. It says the aim is to make secondary schooling easier to reach and to improve the conditions in which students learn.
The World Bank also says the project aims to give more people a way into technical and vocational training, known as TVET. It says that training should fit the needs of the labour market.
The World Bank said these goals are set out in its project appraisal document.
Another award under the same project also used direct selection. A contract for 60 Teach Observer (Batch #2) went to Teach Observer. The signed contract price was G$249,000.
