Farmers' Conference advice to shape national agriculture plan
The conference, a flagship event of Agriculture Month 2026, ran alongside the government's Farmers' Market.

Recommendations from Guyana's first Farmers' Conference will go into a national action plan for agriculture, the Department of Public Information (DPI) said.
DPI published its report on 13 October 2026.
The government's Farmers' Market was held at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre, DPI said. It ran alongside the Farmers' Conference.
The conference is a flagship event of Agriculture Month 2026, according to DPI. The department gave the theme as "Innovate, Nourish, Grow: Building a Strong and Sustainable Guyana".
NCN Guyana reported that the conference is part of a wider Agriculture Month 2026 programme run by the Ministry of Agriculture. The programme includes weekly farmers' markets, Honeyfest and World Food Day.
NCN Guyana also reported that Agriculture Minister Mustapha spoke at the launch. He said the sector is bringing more jobs. He also said more women and young people are taking part.
