Bank of Guyana approves Crown Agents Bank Limited office in Georgetown
CAB Payments Holdings plc says Crown Agents Bank is one of three international financial institutions invited to set up a permanent presence in Guyana.

The Bank of Guyana has approved a Representative Office for Crown Agents Bank Limited. The office is at 127 Quamina Street (Upper Level), South Cummingsburg, Georgetown.
The approval was in a notice in the Official Gazette of Guyana, published on 28 September 2026. The notice says the Bank of Guyana approved setting up and running the office.
CAB Payments Holdings plc, the bank's parent company, announced in May 2026 that the Bank of Guyana had approved a permanent representative office in Georgetown. It also said the bank has worked in Guyana for more than 30 years.
CAB Payments Holdings plc says a representative office is a permanent presence. It said the Guyana office follows the bank's New York office in 2025 and its Abu Dhabi office in 2026.
CAB Payments Holdings plc said Guyana's fast growth is the reason for the move. Using IMF figures, it put Guyana's average economic growth at 47% for the period 2022-2024. It tied that growth to the energy and natural resources sector and to investment in infrastructure.
CAB Payments Holdings plc also said Crown Agents Bank is one of three international financial institutions invited to set up a permanent presence in Guyana. It said the invitations came from the country's Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Guyana. It said the other two institutions are major global banks from the US.
CAB Payments Holdings plc said the Georgetown office is due to open in the second half of 2026.
